The book of Romans deals thoroughly with the concept of grace, yet grace rarely receives the emphasis of study that it deserves. Much discussion centers instead upon the relative importance of faith and works and neglects to emphasize grace as the foundation upon which salvation rests. Without grace neither faith nor works, could achieve anything toward man’s redemption.
Grace tells us a great deal about the nature of God and expresses His boundless mercy and sovereign favor toward mankind. Faith is channel through which God’s perfect and all sufficient grace forgives men’s trespasses forever. Without grace, reconciliation between a living God and man could never take place.
