The general epistles of Apostle Peter give us practical guidelines for our daily lives. Peter knew the church would go through great suffering and would need the grace of God to endure. He reveals for us the glory of our salvation and urges us on to victory. Grace is presented as a hope, a privilege, a blessing, a gift and a way to treat those causing the suffering.
Peter’s second letter was written to people who were facing false teachers as well as persecution. The emphasis of the book is on knowledge of the Scriptures as the foundation against heresy.
These books can help us mature in our service to God.
“The Epistles of Peter” is a a part of the Sunset Bible Institute Commentary series.
